There are two additional stand-alone programs include with Metastock Downloader and Option Scope.
Let’s start with Downloader.
Metastock Downloader allows us to work with securities in a spreadsheet format.
For example, one we open up security and take a look at information we gotta open and let’s choose let’s say IBM.
So, we scroll through, find IBM and open.
We can see that the data is displayed in spreadsheet format.
Let’s open up a little bit.
Here we can see various fields. We can modify the data if we need to. There can’t be mistakes in information if you downloading security data from Internet or from a server. This you can enter yourself. But while working with 100 of securities don’t think you wanna add all this information yourself.
So, this will be used primarily for correcting mistakes.
The other function that Downloader provides is the downloading of daily data base updates. In order to get that daily updates we go to the tools menu.
And we see different options that we have here, but we are gonna go down and we are gonna select vendor options.
Here is the list of the different vendors we can work with. They come with the program.
It’s a BMI, Dial/Data, Reuters Datalink, Signal, Telescan (in older version Metastock rider, signal, telescen, market scene, Dow Jones, Copiser, DiDate)
In this section you have different networks that you can work with to connect. Let’s cover Telescan.
In this section we identified than the country that we are accessing from and dlow that phone number.
We click apply etc.
Another function available in the Metastock Downloader is the ability to create composite securities.
Now what’s the composite security. Well, it’s a relationship between two securities – a primary and secondary. Here we place the name and then downbelow that we add additional information we select our primary.
And in this case one we scroll down and we’ll pick Bank of America. Then we pick our secondary. Let’s pick another bank.
And we could download City.
City is primary and secondary. Also we have operations let’s say we wanney incorporate this. We leave this divide and leave units in decimals. Then we put create. Well, first we have to enter our name. Let’s enter a name on it. Or use BAC fords slash CCI.

The Metastock downloader also lets us work with the informer database.
We got tools in downloader again and we can lead, test, convert, and so on, so forth. We can also look at our composite as a chart.
Well, open it up, scroll down to the bottom here it is, and we are gonna click on open and here it is.
Now let’s change it from bars to a simple line chart.
This shows us the relationship between Bank of America and City Bank Prices.
